Something new from Bruce Springsteen appears to be slated for release next week.
A post on his website, BruceSpringsteen.net, says "Coming November 25th" above an image of The Boss that resembles a record sleeve for "Bruce Springsteen High Hopes."
In addition, the website for Sony Music Germany as well as the Danish music service WiMP have "High Hopes" listed as a new Springsteen single arriving next Monday.
However, a rep for the rocker tells "Rolling Stone" the website information is "not correct."
"High Hopes" isn't a Springsteen original - or even a new song for him. Tom Scott McConnell wrote and recorded the track with his group the Havalinas more than 20 years ago. Springsteen and the E Street Band covered it for their 1996 EP "Blood Brothers." But Springsteen performed the song during the Australian leg of his "Wrecking Ball" tour earlier this year.
