U2's new song is helping others in a bigger way than expected. The band made "Invisible" available as a free download Sunday night following its debut in a Super Bowl commercial.
Bank Of America had originally pledged to give a dollar for each download, up to $2 million, to (RED), the organization U2 frontman Bono co-founded in 2006 to help fight AIDS. But downloads of the song exceeded the one-million mark in the first hour alone, and by midnight had been downloaded over three-million times. As a result, Bank Of America has upped its donation, and is giving over $3 million to the cause.
The song is still generating money for (RED). "Invisible" is now available for purchase on iTunes for a dollar-29, and U2 is giving all proceeds from the sales to the organization.
