Chain Reaction 410 Wreck Caused by Wrong-Way Driver

Misery and injury has again been caused by a motorist who couldn't figure out how to drive in the right direction on our expressways.

About 9:30 last night, police say a man started driving the wrong way down the access road of Loop 410 near Zarzamora on the south side, not far from Texas A&M San Antonio.

The motorist drove down an embankment onto the Loop, and slammed head on into a pickup that was carrying two people.  Moments later, another pickup slammed into the back of a small car that had slowed down because of the original accident.  A five year old child in that car was serious injured.

Police took the wrong way driver, a man in his thirties, into custody.  Officers think he was drunk.
