The cold weather is thought to be to blame for yet another house fire in San Antonio overnight.

This one broke out about 1 this morning at a house in the 9600 block of Heidelberg, which is off Weidner Road on the city's northeast side.

Officials say when they arrived at the scene, they found the first floor of the two story home engulfed in flames.

One person living there was rescued and placed into a police patrol car so he wouldn't have to stand outside in the bitter cold.

It was a stubborn fire to contain, because the flames had gotten in between the walls and spread from room to room.  It took more than an hour for firefighters to bring it under control.

No word yet on the cause.  Nobody was hurt.  There has been a flurry of house fires around the city in the past several days, generally blamed on the cold weather.
