As expected, Col. Tara Osborn today rejected Ft. Hood gunman Maj. Nidal Hasan's request for another ninety day delay in his murder trial.

Hasan had requested more time after he asked for permission to mount a 'defense of others' argument at his trial, claiming that he opened fire in November of 2009 to 'protect the Taliban in Afghanistan.'  But since that request has been denied, Hasan conceded that he no longer needs the delay.

Osborn ruled last week that the defense is immaterial...because at the time of the shooting, the soldiers were at Ft. Hood and presented no immediate threat to anybody in Afghanistan.
