A woman in her sixties is not expected to face charges after a gruesome accident on the south side this morning that left a man dead, 1200 WOAI news reports.

  Police say the woman was driving down the 300 block of Frio City Road when she saw 'something laying in the street.'

  The woman tried to avoid it but she struck what turned out to be a man.

  He was actually wedged in the undercarriage of the woman's car and died a short time after EMS freed him.

  Another accident killed a woman on the northeast side last night.
  Police say Mary Ferguson, 59, was crossing the street near Thousand Oaks and Nacogdoches when she was hit by a car.  No word on possible charges.

  A shooting at an apartment complex on the city's north side this morning has left one man hospitalized in serious condition.

  The man was found between two cars in the parking lot of the Aspen Heights Apartments complex off of Hausman Road about 2:30 this afternoon.  He had told the deputies he had been shot, and was rushed to the hosptial.  So far, there are no suspects.
