It was an alarming wake up call overnight for guests at the Hyatt Place Hotel on South St. Mary's overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI's Michael Main reports.
A fire alarm started blaring about 10PM due to a fire on the seventh floor that was started when an air conditioning unit set some curtains on fire.
Fire crews responded to the fire, but the hotel's sprinkler system went off and flooded the flood.
Hundreds of guests were out of their rooms for hours, not being allowed to go back in until close to 1PM.
There were no injuries and no word on a damage estimate.
