What started out as a search for a missing child ended with the child save and his mother in custody, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Police reported that the child, Kashion Johnson, 14, was last seen walking away from his home near Martin Luther King Drive on the east side last night, after an argument with his mother.

Police said the boy had actually gone to the home of a nearby neighbor.  When the neighbor and the boy arrived at his house this morning, they found he had been locked out.

The child threw rocks at the house to get his mother to let him in.

Police say when the mother came out she became 'belligerent' and had to be detained.

Kashion was taken to Youth Services and Child Protective Services will take custody of him.

The mother is being questioned by police, but has not been charges.
