A 26 year old woman is lucky to be alive after she was pulled from the Comal River unresponsive and not breathing Saturday night, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

New Braunfels Police say Kathryn Walker of Austin had been pulled out of the river by individuals she was tubing with, police say she was at the last tubers exit on the Comal at East Lincoln and East Union.

Police called for backup and firefighters moved quickly to get Walker breathing again.  She was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio.

Police say they're not sure how Walker came to be in the river, but it is being considered as a 'near accidental drowning,' and no foul play is suspected.
