Police have few leads in the shooting of two people in a southwest side apartment Thursday morning, Newsradio 1200 WOAI reports.

The gunfire rang out shortly before four AM at an apartment in the 2500 block of Suzette, which is off Highway 90 across from the New Life Christian Center.

When officers arrived, they found two people, who police described as boyfriend and girlfriend, dead in a bedroom in the apartment.

Detectives told Newsradio 1200 WOAI that two men wearing ski masks forced their way into the apartment and opened fire.  Both victims were shot multiple times in what one officer called an 'execution.'

The two gunmen sped away in separate vehicles.  One SUV was found on fire in front of a motel several blocks away, and police were trying to determine if that was related to the shooting.

Police have no motive for the gruesome crime and say the investigation is in its 'early stages.'
