Video Captures Man Smashing Pumpkins In Broad Daylight

A family in Kansas took steps to keep their Halloween decorations safe this year after somebody stole expensive decorations from their porch last year. To protect the decorations, the Leiszlers installed a security camera by their front door, and each night they would bring inside the pumpkins their two young boys, ages six and nine, carved.

“This has been happening year after year, and we are sick and tired of it,” Chris Leiszler explained to the Wichita Eagle. “Last year, we had some large and fairly expensive decorations stolen from our porch, and that’s what prompted us to buy the security camera.”

None of that did anything to stop a man from walking up to their porch in the middle of the day and smashing the pumpkins on the ground. After coming home and seeing the guts of the pumpkins littered across his sidewalk, Chris pulled up the surveillance footage and shared it to Facebook, hoping that somebody knew the identity of the man.

Leiszler's plea for help worked and the culprit was identified. He said that the man, who was a member of a local fraternity, will stop by their home to apologize to the two young boys. Leiszler said he does not want to publicly shame the culprit as long as he offers a sincere apology and agrees to do a community service project.
